I am a fifth year graduate student in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at UVa. I spent most of my young life in Richmond, Virginia, only a short drive down the road from Charlottesville. For my undergraduate education, I moved to the warmer climate and bigger city life of Atlanta, Georgia, to attend Georgia Tech. The move back to Virginia for me was like coming home, and I enjoy the Charlottesville area and all that it has to offer – scenic hikes, great concerts, and a running-friendly community – hard to beat that. My research interests include cell-material strategies for peripheral nerve tissue engineering, and electric field manipulation for patterning substrates via electrospinning technologies.
