Caren graduated in May, 2008, and received a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases. She grew up in far-away Gettysburg, PA (i.e. Four score and seven years ago...) She loves to travel, and has visited the south of France, Italy, Greece, and Hawaii in recent trips. Her undergraduate degree is also from UVA, in chemical engineering, and her doctoral dissertation focused on isolating novel stem cell populations and delivering phospholipid growth factors for cranial bone regeneration.
